Welding Inspector (Structural/Piping)
(Kuala Lumpur)

Responsibilities:

* Multiple positions available for Structural Inspectors, Piping Inspectors and Painting Inspectors
* Organise the Inspection operations defined under the approved inspection plan; ensures or requests the necessary means for proper implementation
* Follow up / Supervise/report the Inspection operations performed onshore and offshore, whether under the approved inspection plan or justified by an ad-hoc intervention.
* Ensure that facilities are fit for service and comply with the relevant regulation, company rules, technical codes and standard
* Liaise with team on day to day issues.
* Develop and recommended approval of structural procedures and applied fabrication methods, processes and techniques.
* Perform routine checks to ensure workmanship practices are uniform and consistent throughout all aspects of steel work fabrication, verification and testing.
* Review and comment on structural drawings and specifications.
* Verify and monitor the establishment of and adherence to company approved material tracking, void space closure, welding, NDE and punch list procedures.
* Verify witness and review status of welder and NDE technician qualifications.
* Understand the project schedule and be proactive in assessing activities that could impact the planning and progress.
* Perform local tolerance dimensional checks to verify as built dimensions.
* Review construction documentation for completeness and correctness.
* Review and verify final NDE results.
* Preparation of list of structural items for inclusion in final punch list.
* Document and communicate lessons learned in all above responsibilities.

Requirements:

* Candidate must possess recognized qualification (Cswip 3.2, PCN, Cofrend, ASNT or equivalent) in basic NDT techniques and welding inspection
* Must posses valid Sea Survival certificate.
* Good knowledge of metallurgy, and of corrosion/welding, and of Marine Certification requirement
* At least 8 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
* Preferably Junior Executives specializing in Engineering - Oil/Gas or equivalent.

Gambar in house inspector,LR inspector & Client inspector buat inspection before cutting @ after marking.Selalunye kalau wat inspection sekali ngan 3rd party inspector @ client, in house inspector akan wat inspection dahulu la..

Kalau marking tu accepted in house inspector akan "endorsed" & baru la kontraktor akan cut mengikut ape yang diorang mark..Siap marking diorang akan prepare edge preparation as per approved construction drawing(AFC)..edge preparation kena ensure complete before rolling kalau x susah ooooo...

Petronas finds new oil and gas fields offshore Sarawak

PETALING JAYA: Petronas has made major oil and gas discoveries through the drilling of NC3 and Spaoh-1 wells in Blocks SK316 and SK306 offshore Sarawak.

It said that in March last year, drilling of the NC3 wildcat well and a subsequent appraisal well brought significant discovery for Petronas in Block SK316 with early estimation of 2.6 trillion standard cubic feet (tscf) of net gas in place.

“The wells were each drilled to a depth of almost 4,000 metres below sea level. Additionally, production flow test results of the wells demonstrate that the field is technically producible.

“The Spaoh-1 well of 3,000m drilling depth, located in Block SK306, shows similar promise. It was drilled in December 2010 and found both oil and gas,” Petronas said in a statement.

The national oil company said preliminary evaluation indicates around 100 million barrels of oil and 0.2 tscf of gas in place, respectively. Currently, the well is being prepared for production testing.

“These discoveries support Petronas' strategy to intensify exploration activities in Malaysia and is expected to further enhance exploration potential offshore Sarawak.”

In the next three years, over 50 exploration wells are expected to be drilled offshore Malaysia by Petronas and its production sharing contractors.

“These activities, especially if they result in discoveries, are expected to spur business opportunities in the oil and gas industry and will promote upstream investment in the country,” it said.

Terengganu Geared For Further Growth

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 7 (Bernama) -- Terengganu is geared for further economic development with the establishment of Kuala Terengganu City Centre (KTCC) under the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) programme.

KTCC will generate investments worth RM3.9 billion, of which RM3.5 billion will be from the private sector.

KTCC will help Kuala Terengganu become a vibrant Heritage Waterfront City and an international tourism gateway to the East Coast.

ECER Development Council (ECERDC) chief executive Datuk Jebasingam Issace John was quoted as saying ECER had already attracted RM26 billion in expressed and committed investments from both local and foreign sources.

The project study for KTCC is currently in its final stages, and detailed design works and infrastructure development will be implemented under the 10th Malaysia Plan.

The KTCC project is an indication that Kuala Terengganu is ready for major transformation.

Kuala Terengganu has the only international airport in the East Coast and serves as a hub to the region, complemented by Phase 2 of the East Coast Expressway which is expected to be completed in 2011.

Meanwhile, the state's tourism is boosted by two international sporting events -- the Monsoon Cup and the Sultan's Cup Terengganu Endurance Challenge.

Menteri Besar Terengganu Datuk Ahmad Said was quoted as saying that under the Ninth Malaysia Plan, 38 projects had been approved for implementation in Terengganu including 14 cross-border projects involving other ECER states.

ENGINEERING and construction group Ranhill Bhd (5030)says the RM1.08 billion contract it won recently for a regasification project in Malacca will help sustain its involvement in the oil and gas sector.

"Winning the job means our core business of engineering and expertise are being recognised. It speaks well of us.

"Locally we are back in the (oil and gas) game and we expect more projects from Petronas," Ranhill executive director Datuk Chandrasekar Suppiah told Business Times in an interview.

A consortium led by Ranhill was recently awarded the construction of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification unit, together with island berth and subsea pipeline, by Petronas Gas Bhd.
The two-member consortium comprises Ranhil's unit, Ranhill WorleyParsons Sdn Bhd with a 70 per cent stake, and Muhibbah Engineering Bhd (30 per cent).
