Gulf Petroleum signs deals for RM17b hub

KUALA LUMPUR: Qatar-based Gulf Petroleum (M) Sdn Bhd (GPLM) has signed agreements with consortium groups from China, Hong Kong and India to jointly develop its RM17 billion integrated oil and gas complex in Port Dickson.

Marmagoa Steel Ltd and Rukmani Finance Pte Ltd, which are led by India-based businessman Ashok Mittal, have formed a consortium with a local partner - Extrarich Marine Sdn Bhd.

Together, this consortium will undertake the financing, construction and supply of steel to build storage facility at the complex.

China-based telecom solutions provider Huawei Technologies has also come onboard to participate in the development of the complex. The group will cover the information technology and telecommunication aspects of the plant.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong-based Oriental Air Energy Investment Corp Ltd will undertake the financing and construction of the power supply requirements of the complex by utilising patented green air- powered technology.

GPLM managing director Nor Azmi Abdullah said the group has received official proposals from 35 countries worldwide interested to participate in the setting up of the complex. They include banking groups, government-linked investment companies and oil and gas companies.

"We will have more partnerships like the ones signed today. We are carefully studying the proposals at this stage," he said during a media briefing yesterday.

Construction of the complex would begin once the company has finalised outstanding regulatory issue with the authorities. "We hope to start construction by second quarter next year," he said.

The complex, targeted to be fully completed by 2015, is located at Port Dickson on a 607.5ha of land. It would include a refinery, petrochemical plant and storage facilities and would be able to produce about 150,000 barrels of oil per day.

The complex was intended to be GPLM's regional hub for its activities in Asia Pacific. The company had earlier secured crude oil supply among consortium members and has finalised initial agreements on products off-take arrangement with several countries within Asean and in Asia Pacific.

Salam to all inspectors..Dah nak dekat sebulan x update blog ni..hehe..biasa la nak jadi inspector yang berjaya kena la menyibukkan diri dengan persekitaran disekeliling kita..tambahkan ilmu dan pengalaman..sebelum ni aku pernah cakap pasal ASME review..ari ni aku cter ckit ape itu ASME review..sebelum aku cter kalau ada salah n silap tolong2 lah perbetulkan ye..aku baru first time involve ASME review ni..firsly,aku terangkan pe makna disebalik ASME..mungkin ada yang xtau dengan singkatan perkataan tersebut..ASME stand for American Society of Mechanical Engineer..ASME review ni dijalankan untuk renewal license setiap 3 tahun sekali dimana license akan dikeluarkan oleh ASME board kat UK..dlam erti kata lain ASME stamp la..kebanyakan fabricator mesti ada ASME stamp ni..macam kat tempat aku ada U,U2,S & R stamp..ASME stamp ni digunakan bila client/owner required vessel yang dibuat certified to U,U2 & S stamp tuk construction to ASME VIII Div.1,U2 plak untuk construction to ASME VIII Div.2,S untuk construction ASME I & R tuk repair vessel, boiler and or piping..ASME stamp ni ada banyak lagi, contohnya U3,PP,N,UM,UV,E & lain2 lagi la...lain2 stamp ni aku pun xpernah tgk..heheheh..ASME review akan diaudit oleh ASME committee sendiri...kat tempat aku ni yang akan datang adalah orang Jepun..orang jepun ni detail ckit..to all inspector yang ada experience bagi2 la pendapat ye..Kat tempat aku akan dijalankan selama 3 ari..1st day tuk design review,2nd day kat Shah Alam workshop tempat aku jaga..3rd day kat klang workshop..aku kat klang workshop tapi disebabkan ASME review ni terpaksa la ulang alik ke shah alam untuk ASME review..kalau company 2 ada banyak workshop setiap workshop kena berdaftar & kena audit untuk dapatkan ASME stamp..ASME review ni setiap workshop kena prepare satu demo vessel untuk ASME committee ni inspect..ada masa aku upload gambar vessel ASME review ye..itu la sedikit sebanyak yang aku boleh terangkan..ok la inspector sume, masa dah mencemburui la...hehehhe...jap lagi ada PIM ngan client dari Sime Darby untuk project tank fabrication..Babai...
