Labuan to be oil and gas hub
LABUAN -- Labuan is being considered as a third oil and gas hub of Malaysia, after Teluk Ramunia and Pengerang in Johor, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said today.
The Prime Minister noted that the RM387 million Phase 2 undersea pipeline could support the oil and gas industries.
“We are still studying the matter (of giving Labuan the status). The Minister of Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing has briefed me on the potential of the oil and gas sectors in Labuan,” he told reporters after opening a 1Malaysia clinic in Taman Mutiara here.
He said the matter would be brought to the attention of the Performance Management and Delivery Unit for further study before a decision was made.
Najib said the future of Labuan depended very much on oil and gas and financial services.
“We can see the potential of oil and gas as a big resource in Labuan, capable of generating high income jobs for the locals," he said.
Shipping and tourism were the other areas with potential, apart from education, he said.

Gambar in house inspector,LR inspector & Client inspector buat inspection before cutting @ after marking.Selalunye kalau wat inspection sekali ngan 3rd party inspector @ client, in house inspector akan wat inspection dahulu la..
Kalau marking tu accepted in house inspector akan "endorsed" & baru la kontraktor akan cut mengikut ape yang diorang mark..Siap marking diorang akan prepare edge preparation as per approved construction drawing(AFC)..edge preparation kena ensure complete before rolling kalau x susah ooooo...

Petronas finds new oil and gas fields offshore Sarawak
PETALING JAYA: Petronas has made major oil and gas discoveries through the drilling of NC3 and Spaoh-1 wells in Blocks SK316 and SK306 offshore Sarawak.
It said that in March last year, drilling of the NC3 wildcat well and a subsequent appraisal well brought significant discovery for Petronas in Block SK316 with early estimation of 2.6 trillion standard cubic feet (tscf) of net gas in place.
“The wells were each drilled to a depth of almost 4,000 metres below sea level. Additionally, production flow test results of the wells demonstrate that the field is technically producible.
“The Spaoh-1 well of 3,000m drilling depth, located in Block SK306, shows similar promise. It was drilled in December 2010 and found both oil and gas,” Petronas said in a statement.
The national oil company said preliminary evaluation indicates around 100 million barrels of oil and 0.2 tscf of gas in place, respectively. Currently, the well is being prepared for production testing.
“These discoveries support Petronas' strategy to intensify exploration activities in Malaysia and is expected to further enhance exploration potential offshore Sarawak.”
In the next three years, over 50 exploration wells are expected to be drilled offshore Malaysia by Petronas and its production sharing contractors.
“These activities, especially if they result in discoveries, are expected to spur business opportunities in the oil and gas industry and will promote upstream investment in the country,” it said.

Hydrostatic Testing for API Tank
Ari ni kat tempat aku ada hydrostatic testing untuk API tank..Job ni client dia japan..dalam gmbar aku upload ni yang pakai helmet warna biru tu..time hydrostatic testing ni time ni la dia nak wat dimensional..tumbang tank 2 nanti xbalik jepun dah la diorang..hahaha..gurau je...Job ni 100% design as per API 650 11th + Appendix S.Joint Efficency untuk Shell dia 0.7 je..so xde la kena wat Radiography Testing(RT),cuma kena wat 100% Dye Penentrant Testing(DPT) je..murah & cepat..=)Job ni under aku punya senior inspector..(old timer)yang pakai jaket warna hijau tu la..jom kita sama2 tengok..
Elevation Tank ni dari bawah(bottom)plate hingga ke bumbung(roof) lebih kurang 10500mm dan outside diameter 4300mm.!!Ada beran...safety manager siap tunggu dekat area hydrostatic test untuk memastikan non-authorized personnel masuk area hydrostatic test..gambar safety manager xde dalam gambar...hehehe..

Ultrasonic Inspection(UT) on Spreder Bar
Assalammualaikum kepada semua Inspector2 terutama kepada inspector2 yang baru menjerumuskan diri di dalam bidang inspection seperti aku..kat sini aku ada upload gambar dimana UT inspection perform kat salah satu spreader bar untuk PM329 East Piatu Development Project..Project ni owner dia Newfield Peninsula Malaysia Inc..UT inspection ni dibuat bagi mengenal pasti "volumetric defect"yang terdapat pada weld joint tersebut dan juga mengesahkan "weld integrity"atau dalam bahasa melayu keutuhan kimpalan tersebut.NDT personnel daripada Nusatek..selalu company aku bekeja ni panggil Prescan..untuk job ni terpaksa la panggil Nusatek..sebabnya aku pun xpasti gak sebab projek ni under member aku..hehehe....spreder bar ni digunakan untuk Lifting of Skid masa transportation ataupun masa installation nanti..Metering Skid project ni dalam construction lagi..nak tengok metering skid ni kena tunggu....hehehe...=)
